It is longstanding Rainbow Family consensus that nobody has ever, or ever will officially represent the Rainbow Family. This is an unofficial collection of information on the British Rainbow Family and the Rainbow Gatherings and events happening within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This information is presented to you by the Oak Dragon School of Initiation into the Mystery Traditions.

Some say that the Rainbow Family is the largest ‘non-organization’ of ‘non-members’ in the world. The Rainbow Family has no leaders, and no official organization. This is because the Rainbow Family means so many different things to different people. It’s safe to say though, that we're into intentional community building, non-violence, and alternative lifestyles. We also believe that Peace and Love is a great thing, and there isn't enough of it in this world. We have a strong orientation to take care of the Earth. We gather in beautiful natural places all over the world to pray for peace on this planet.

The Oak Dragon School has very strong links to both the British and International Rainbow Family. We are dedicated to assisting the Rainbow Family in holding Gatherings and other events in Britain. We are in no way the only point of contact for information on British Rainbow Events – we are however one point of contact. Consensus was reached at the British National Rainbow Gathering in Wales, that a Vision Council, hosted by the Oak Dragon School, should take place on 1^st September 2008. The Oak Dragon School extends the following invitation to you all... 

“We, who are brothers & sisters, children of God, families of life on earth, friends of nature & of all people, children of humankind calling ourselves Rainbow Family Tribe, humbly invite:

All races, peoples, tribes, communes, men, women, children, and individuals -- out of love.

All nations & national leaders -- out of respect

All religions & religious leaders -- out of faith

All politicians -- out of charity

to join with us in gathering together for the purpose of expressing our sincere desire that there shall be peace on earth and harmony among all people. This Vision Council is to take place on 1^st September 2008. You are all welcome to join us on this day and during the weekend building up to it.”

The purpose of this event is to bring together anyone who desires community and peace to be present in their lives and in the world. We will gather together in circle to share food and prayers with one another. In the tradition of Ancient Council we will pass the Talking Stick and speak of our visions for the future of the British Rainbow Family. We hope that through this process we will be able to speak to each other from the heart and create a strong vision for a National Rainbow Gathering in 2009.
