Sharing Circles - Rites of Passage - Ancient Council

We humans are spiritual beings. We are on a difficult journey – a journey that will take us back to wholeness and will one day bring us enlightenment. If we are going to continue on this journey of spiritual and cultural evolution our survival will be dependent on our ability to cooperate with one another.

Oak Dragon offers many things to those who choose to become involved in it. We share the secrets of many magickal traditions of the world, we teach the healing arts and we create ceremony connecting us with the cycles of Earth.

Magick, healing and Seasonal Celebrations are all important aspects of Oak Dragon that help to facilitate a process of community building and personal development within a tribe. At the core of Oak Dragon tradition and group process is the ‘Powwow’ or ‘Talking Circle’. The Powwow is a time when we all come together to sit in circle with each other and speak from the heart about any issues that feel important to any of the individuals present.

It is through the process of the Talking Circle that we move from a state of false community to a place where we are all able to be completely open with each other about painful or difficult issues. The Talking Circle is an extraordinary tool for conflict resolution and decision-making. It is also an opportunity for us to just be with one another in a safe and open space.

Spend an evening in the Oak Dragon Big Lodge – enjoy the chance to sit around a fire in a magical setting and create bonds with a circle of friends that will last forever. 

Our ‘Spirit of Community’ evenings are open for everyone to participate in. These evenings are focused by whoever is present and are to be used for any purpose. Our only agenda is to help those who attend to feel part of a circle and bonded as a tribe.

The Talking Circle can often be a difficult experience for those who participate, as you are compelled to speak and listen to one another from the heart – this can be a painful experience as we encounter each other in an often raw emotional state. Allowing this process to take place though, opens the participants to new levels of emotional freedom and understanding and is ultimately an unparalleled healing and bonding experience for all.
